Well, I finally decided to do a modified pinwheel lap quilt.
These are the fabric pieces Julie Keeler sent me. It has taken me such a long time to get started, but school is out now and I have some free time to play.
I have ripped seams and ripped trying to get the points to meet perfectly...sure, Genie. Give up! Sew a button in the center of each one if the points to not meet to suit you.

Looking great. Make sure you nest your seams and pin the points. Sew them a thread or two from the actual point and you will have better success at it. Remember we don't live in a perfect world, so there is NO quilt in this world that is perfect either. I think it is looking great so far. Keep up the good work.
I love what you have done with these fabrics! I hope to get started on using mine soon.
You a re so kind. I hope it goes more smoothly in the future. genie
Really pretty pinwheels. This will be so pretty when finished. If you don't tell anyone about the points, no one would see them when you're finished! They all blend together. Relax & enjoy.
plenty of very pretty buttons and sequins out there for the centre of each pin wheel... works for me every time xx
Wow! Genie...you are doing great! Check the blog for posts of my completed quilt from fabrics you sent me...I love it, its o bright and happy!!
don't stress about the points...they look great to me!! I like what you did with these fabrics. Very nice.
Yes, don't stress about the points. Just strive for accurate cutting and a scant 1/4 seam and let the points take care of themselves! It looks great!
You did a nice job, I would never have paired those fabrics together! I also did not see the points until it was mentioned, not bad at all!
